Batch heating furnaces with stationary hearth are of periodic operation. In such furnaces items loading, heat treatment, cooling and unloading is carried out in succession in furnace working space.

Batch heating furnaces are widely used at the heat treatment sites of machine-building plants. They are used for heat treatment of medium-sized items and blanks, as well as for small items.

The disadvantages of batch furnaces are relatively low efficiency, hard physical labor at products loading and unloading.
